What do you feed?

A grandfather is talking with his grandson and he says there are two wolves inside of us which are always at war with each other. One of them is a good wolf which represents things like kindness, bravery and love. The other is a bad wolf, which represents things like greed, hatred and fear. The grandson stops and thinks about it for a second then he looks up at his grandfather and says, “Grandfather, which one wins?” The grandfather quietly replies, the one you feed.

The best way to kill something is to starve it. The best way to have something thrive is to feed it. What we feed thrives, what we starve dies. What we feed wins, what we starve loses.

We feed by:

  • What we meditate on. Do we meditate on whatever things are true, noble, just…as per Phil 4:8 – or do we meditate on failures, problems, obstacles, challenges?
  • Who and what we allow to instruct us and speak into our lives. Do we depend on the Holy Spirit to teach us all things, and bring to our remembrance all things, according to John‬ ‭14:26‬ ‭or do we prefer to be instructed by the media, friends etc‬‬? Our friends feed into our thought patterns, attitudes, mindset and behavior. What kind of relationships do we encourage? Elisha had Elijah, Ruth had Naomi, Mary had Elizabeth, David had Jonathan, Samson had Delilah, Esau had the Canaanite wives and Joshua had Moses. Who do we have?

Be careful not to starve what is supposed to thrive or feed what is supposed to die:

  • Feed your faith not your fear
    Feed love not hatred
    Feed forgiveness not bitterness
    Feed positivity not negativity
    Feed your strengths not weaknesses
    Feed patience not impulsiveness

Because:

  • Whatever we feed grows; whatever we starve dies
Whatever we feed wins; whatever we starve loses
Whatever we feed thrives; whatever we starve stagnates

Marks of Sonship

Sonship in the Kingdom of God does not exclude or preclude the female gender, that is girls and women.

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:26-29 NKJV

The Bible couldn’t more clearer regarding our place in Christ Jesus and in the Kingdom of God

A son of God:
1. Has believed and received Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26, John 1:11-13)
2. Is led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14-17, Galatians 5:16-23)
3. Practices righteousness (I John 3:7-10, I John 2:28-29)
4. Practices Love (Matthew 5:43-48, Luke 6:35, I John 4:7, 20-21)
5. Is a peace maker (Matthew 5:9, Hebrews 12:14)
6. Accepts Discipline from God (Hebrews 12:5-11)
7. Is Merciful (Luke 6:36, Matthew 5:7, James 2:13)
8. Overcomes the world (I John 5:4-5, I John 4:4, John 16:33)
